Researchers at DGIST have developed a safer and more durable lithium metal battery featuring a triple-layer solid polymer electrolyte, suitable for applications ranging from electric vehicles to large-scale energy storage systems. Led by Principal Researcher Kim Jae-hyun from the Division of Energy & Environmental Technology, the team addressed key challenges such as dendrite formation, enhancing both safety and efficiency. The battery retains 87.9% of its performance after 1,000 cycles, offering extended lifespan and improved fire safety, making it a promising advancement for diverse energy solutions.
